Leather is a natural product. It requires
regular maintenance to insure long wear and to
retain its good appearance. Natural markings,
such as scars from the animal, insect bites, stretch
marks, etc., are not considered defects.
Some general care guidlines to consider
are:
• Avoid
placing furniture in direct sunlight or near
a radiator/ fan heater.
• Avoid dry air. Air humidity
which is best for you is best for the leather.
• Vacuum
the leather carefully to remove dust particles.
• Clean leather regularly to
remove grease and dirt.
• Apply Ekornes'® Leather
Protection Cream to all leather surfaces, including
but not limited
to neck rests, arm rests, etc. when receiving your
furniture. Re-apply
twice per year or when the leather
appears dry.
How to remove a water stain:
Do not allow the stain to
dry - remove it as quickly as possible. Apply
a mild leather cleaner on a sponge or cotton
cloth to absorb all the liquid. Do
not allow the leather to become saturated. If
this should happen, dry it quickly and carefully
(e.g., a hairdrier on low heat). Do not rub.
How to remove a greasy stain:
Remove as much as possible
of the stain with a paper napkin or soft cotton
cloth. Do not
rub. Press the cloth against the stain to
absorb the grease. Use a mild leather cleaner
to remove the rest of the stain.
