Buzz
So
it
occurred
to
me
last
week,
when
I
was
sitting
around
with
friends
after
dinner,
that
not
only
is
my
memory
shot
but
pretty
much
everyone
I
know
over
50
has
re-invented
the
past. Recently
some
old
friends
gathered
for
a
lobster
dinner
on
the
Cape
and
we
were
all
reminiscing
about
past
trips
and
get-togethers
over
the
years
(margaritas
may
have
been
involved).
I
found
it
odd
was
everyone’s
recollection
was
entirely
different
than
the
others.
A
few
of
my
friends
were
actually
combining
some
of
the
events
into
one
and
I
was
sitting
there
saying
to
myself, “WOW,
do
they
have
it
wrong,
that
is
not
what
happened
at
all.” What
one
person
is
describing
as
one
trip
was
actually
3
different
trips,
never
once
thinking
that
maybe
my
memory
had
it
wrong.
This
from
a
person
who
walks
into
a
room
to
tell
my
co-worker
something
and
in
less
than
5
seconds
can’t
remember
what
I
was
going
to
say.
I
have
joked
for
quite
a
while
about
having
this
disease
called
CRS
[can’t
remember
S!#*]
but
seriously,
I
think
I’ve
hit
the
advanced
stages. My
brain
gets
so
full
that
there
isn’t
enough
room
to
keep
the
information
storage
in
good
order
so
it
just
pushes
aside
things
I
may
want
to
forget.
I
have
a
very
good
selective
memory. The
selective
part
lets
you
take
the
best
part
of
events
in
the
past
and
piece
them
together
to
an
even
better
experience.
The
problem
with
the
advanced
stages
of
CRS
is
that
here
it
is
noontime
and
I
can’t
remember
what
I
had
for
breakfast
or
dinner
last
night,
it
fades
quickly. Why
is
it
I
can
remember
a
weekend
10
years
ago
as
if
it
was
yesterday
but
can’t
remember
the
name
of
the
movie
I
saw
three
nights
ago?
I
know
I
don’t
suffer
alone
because
I
have
been
with
friends
when
they
run
into
a
colleague
or
causal
friend
they
have
known
for
20
years
and
their
mind
goes
blank
when
they
find
they
can’t
pull
up
the
name
right
away,
so
I
stick
out
my
hand
and
say
nice
to
met
you,
I’m
Peggy. Later
your
friend
will
give
you
a
hug
and
says
thanks
for
helping
me
dodge
the
bullet,
word
would
have
been
out
on
the
street
about
that
one
and
they’d
be
signing
me
up
for
the
home.
I
am
lucky
that
I
have
a
very
patient
husband
and
when
I
stop
in
a
middle
of
a
conversation
and
say, “what
I
was
I
just
saying?” he
starts
with a
rundown
of
possibilities
and
says
don’t
worry
you
can
get
back
to
it,
the
whole
time
I
am
for
sure
thinking
this
is
it,
I
have
totally
lost
all
my
marbles.
I
guess
some
people
start
eating
more
blueberries,
good
for
the
memory…but
trust
me,
a
whole
bowlful
just
sends
it
out
the
other
end!
There
is
also
this
thing
called
Sudoku.
It
is
some
kind
of
crossword
or
word
game
to
improve
your
memory,
but
hey,
I
am
much
too
lazy
to
try
it,
would
rather
read
a
nice
trashy
novel. I’m
just
going
to
embrace
CRS
and
see
where
it
brings
me,
hopefully
keeps
me
out
of
jail.
I
probably
won’t
remember
next
month,
but
here’s
hoping
I
have
a
fun
July!
P.S.
A
friend
recently
shared
that
there
is
also
another
name
for
it…C.R.A.F.T,
see
if
you
can
figure
out
what
that
stands
for?
