At Circle Furniture, we believe that what you bring into your home should reflect not only your style but also your values. That’s why we’re proud to partner with brands like Norwalk Furniture, a company that embodies craftsmanship, community, and sustainability. We spoke with Diane Lewis, Norwalk’s New England Sales Representative, to learn more about what makes this American-made brand so special.

Over a Century of Craftsmanship

Founded in 1902 and based in Norwalk, Ohio, Norwalk Furniture has more than 120 years of experience in creating beautiful, custom upholstery. What sets them apart? According to Diane, it’s simple:

“Everything is made right there in Norwalk. It’s an employee-owned company, so that’s important to the community.”

This employee ownership creates a culture of care and commitment. With every piece made to order and not mass-produced, it takes 54 pairs of hands to build just one Norwalk sofa. That means craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in every step of the process.

Locally Sourced, Sustainably Made

Norwalk is deeply committed to sourcing materials locally, with nearly all components coming from within a 200-mile radius of their Ohio factory. That includes high-quality wood from the local Amish community, known for their time-honored woodworking techniques.

“We know we’re getting the best quality from these amazing people,” Diane says.

This local sourcing not only supports nearby businesses, it also helps lower the brand’s carbon footprint, contributing to their larger goal of sustainability.

Norwalk is a proud member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, meeting some of the highest environmental standards in the industry. Their commitment includes minimizing waste, reducing emissions, and maintaining responsible production practices.

“Sustainability is a responsibility,” Diane notes. “It’s of great importance to our company.”

Strengthening Communities Together

Norwalk’s decision to keep manufacturing in the United States strengthens local economies and creates meaningful jobs, which is something we at Circle Furniture deeply admire.

As Diane puts it: “It helps to promote American jobs, which strengthens communities… and U.S. manufacturers are also held to higher environmental standards.”

That is what Crafted in Community is all about. Supporting companies who invest in people and the planet while delivering beautiful, long-lasting pieces for your home.

A Lasting Partnership

Our relationship with Norwalk goes back to the very beginning of Circle Furniture.

“Norwalk has been with Circle since the Circle’s inception,” Diane shared. “We share the same core values: a strong sense of commitment and family.”

And after more than two decades working directly with Circle, Diane sums it up simply:

“We’re still together because our values align.”

When you shop Norwalk at Circle Furniture, you’re not just choosing beautiful design. You’re choosing furniture that’s thoughtfully made, responsibly sourced, and deeply rooted in American craftsmanship.
