The Comfort Sleeper from American Leather is renowned for being the ultimate in comfort when it comes to sleeper sofas. The fact is, sleeper sofas aren’t always known for their comfort. They are a function piece; one that serves two purposes well but doesn’t excel at either.

The Comfort Sleeper, however, manages to break this mold. American Leather cuts no corners when it comes to creating the most comfortable sleeper sofa on the market. This is all well and good, but besides comfort—what are the benefits of investing in a Comfort Sleeper?

We met up with Georgianna Stevens, our Cambridge showroom Store Manager, to find out.

What is the Comfort Sleeper?

You’re probably wondering what exactly is the Comfort Sleeper and how does it differ from other sleeper sofas you’ll find on the market?

Georgianna says, “It’s a sleeper sofa system that affords you the comfort of a regular gel or foam mattress in the convenience of a sofa.”

It’s the antithesis of all your preconceived notions about a sleeper sofa. As opposed to the bars and springs of traditional sleeper sofas, the Comfort Sleeper features a patented 24/7 platform system topped with five inches of luxury high-density foam.

Besides comfort and style, the Comfort Sleeper offers practicality. Because of the patented mechanism which folds out from the back of the sofa, when the bed is open, it takes up 9 inches less than a conventional sleeper. It allows you to have flexibility in your space without compromising on a good night’s sleep.

1. Meticulously Designed

The Comfort Sleeper excels in comfort and American Leather took every detail into account when designing it, and they continue to make updates and improve it where they can.

A testament to how comfortable the sofa is? Georgianna explains, “Most of the time the people coming in looking for a Comfort Sleeper have already slept on one in their friends or families houses. It was so comfortable they wanted one for themselves.”

Besides being comfortable, it’s easy to use. The mechanism is seamless and each sleeper comes with an instruction flap with details on how to open and unfold it. You simply lift two handles up and walk back, pulling as you go.

Here a few features that prove just how much thought is put into the Comfort Sleeper:

  • The sleeper in the Premier option comes with an allergen-free, waterproof, and stain-resistant with the exclusive Crypton® fabric mattress cover.

  • The Comfort Sleeper is available with a Tempur-Pedic mattress.

  • It’s designed to fit in the smallest, apartment, condos, and cottages.

  • The dust barrier helps prevent dirt or dust from touching the mattress.

  • The mattresses are segmented into 3 parts; designed in a specific way to naturally support the weight of your body.

2. Customizable

As opposed to a one-size-fits-all approach, the Comfort Sleeper is ultra-customizable. It’s available in King, Queen, Queen Plus, Twin XL, Cot, Double-Cot, and Sectional Sizes.

In addition to size variations, there are also dozens of fabric and leather options as well as leg options. Georgianna adds, “There are different seat cushion fill options; down or a firm fill, depending on how plush or supportive you want your seating.”

Within the fabric choices, there is a multitude of performance fabric options, allowing you to customize the perfect sleeper sofa for your home and lifestyle.

3. Choose Your Own Style

Going along with how customizable each individual sleeper sofa is, you’re also able to choose from a large selection of styles.

Georgianna describes, “You can go from traditional to transitional to a more contemporary look. You can have something with a traditional sock arm and a wooden leg or, if you prefer a more modern look, a wide track arm and a metal base.”

The ability to choose from a selection of styles really makes the Comfort Sleeper stand out. Oftentimes sleeper sofas are built and purchased out of functionality. With the Comfort Sleeper, you’re not just buying a dual-function, high-quality piece, you’re also elevating the style of your home.

Rather than something you want to hide, the Comfort Sleeper can be the centerpiece of any space.

4. Mattress Variations

The Comfort Sleeper stands out because, as American Leather puts it, it’s “The Only Sleeper Sofa You Can Sleep On.”

There’s no crossbar that most people are accustomed to in a sleeper sofa. It’s designed to be as comfortable as a bed, and you have 3 variations of mattresses to choose from.

“The options vary in firmness,” Georgianna explains, “The ultimate being a Tempur-Pedic mattress.” It also comes in a gel or premier mattress.

If you plan on using your sleeper often, the ability to choose from multiple mattresses is a wonderful feature.

5. Made in America and Eco-Friendly

The Comfort Sleeper is made in Texas with sustainable practices. Like Circle, American Leather is a founding member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council.

On their website, they explain, “Each frame is constructed from wood harvested from sustainable forests and is precision-engineered to create as little scrap as possible.

The scrap that remains is recycled or reused.” Because the Comfort Sleeper is made in America, it’s very quick to deliver.

Georgianna adds, “They do a wonderful job of stocking their fabrics and leathers.”

Is it right for you?

There are a lot of reasons why you might choose to invest in a Comfort Sleeper. Georgianna outlines, “If you have small condo or studio, it’s the ideal choice for hosting friends and family when a guest bed isn’t a useful option.”

Regardless of the size of your home, the Comfort Sleeper is also perfect for people who are truly looking for quality in a sleeper.

Georgianna says, “Sleep is so important, why wouldn’t you want top quality?” “It’s the ultimate expression of hospitality.

People who invest in a Comfort Sleeper want their guests to enjoy supreme comfort and truly feel at home.”
