The Cost of Sleeper Sofas Based on Price Range: What Are You Paying For?

15 Feb 2022

Let’s get right down to it: sleeper sofas are traditionally more expensive than regular sofas. But like everything else, their cost has risen, making those price points even higher.

Having a sleeper is convenient when a friend spends the night or family visits from out of town, but how much are you willing to pay for that convenience before questioning if it’s worth it?

To help ease concerns you may have around the cost of sleeper sofas, we’ve compared three different two-seat queen sleepers, including:

  • The Monika Queen Sleeper from Luonto

  • The Tilda Queen Sleeper from Cambridge Collection

  • The Queen Comfort Sleeper from American Leather

We highlight their features and price differences so you can have a better understanding of what you're paying for.

Monika Queen Sleeper: Up to $2,900

First on our list is the Monika Queen Sleeper, which can cost up to $2,900. It’s a viable sleeper sofa for small spaces because of its self-contained structure, meaning the seats unfold to make up the foot of the bed. Since the seats are separate from each other, you can open one side at a time or both. The Monika also has a 5” foam mattress, which eliminates bars or springs to ensure optimal comfort while sitting and sleeping.

A couple of things to note about the Monika is that there are limited fabrics to choose from, and its foam mattress is better for occasional use, like when guests visit for a couple of nights, rather than everyday use.

Tilda Queen Sleeper: Up to $3,450 - $5,250

The Tilda Queen Sleeper has greater room for customization, giving it more versatility.

Depending on your preferences and lifestyle, you can get fabric, performance fabric, or leather. Just keep in mind that the cover affects the final cost, which is why the Tilda is priced at up to $3,450 if it’s in fabric and up to $5,250 if you opt for leather.

The Tilda features a 5” mattress that cannot be changed along with a Legget and Platt system, which is constructed with bars and springs wrapped in fabric to ensure comfort while sleeping. It also has an adjustable headrest.

While these price points are for two-seat sleepers, you can add a chaise to your Tilda or purchase it as a sectional.

Queen Comfort Sleeper: Up to $5,900 - $8,450

Last but not least is the Queen Comfort Sleeper. It can be priced at up to $5,900 fabric and up to $8,450 in leather, making it the most expensive option of the three sleepers we’ve mentioned. So why is that?

The Queen Comfort Sleeper offers a number of customizations, giving you the flexibility to make it your own. You can upgrade the seats to down, choose an arm style and wood finish for the legs, and pick from your choice of fabric, performance, Ultrasuede, or leather. Similar to the Tilda, the Queen Comfort Sleeper can come with a chaise or as a sectional.

Another feature is American Leather’s patented 24/7 Tiffany mechanism, built to provide even support without bars or springs. You also have the option to get a gel or Tempur-Pedic mattress.

Finally, a protective flap behind the sleeper’s back cushions covers the top of the mattress, and the seat and back cushions are fitted to the frame.
