Game day: everyone’s decked out in their team’s gear, there’s an endless amount of food, and the countdown to see who wins creates a thrilling anticipation. Friends and family gather to watch the game, and this calls for a spacious area where everyone can sit, stand, and shout.

Since sectionals are great for this type of occasion, we asked team members across all of our departments to vote on what they think is the best sectional for game day.

Third place

Broadway Sectional

There was a tie for third between the Emily Stressless Power Sectional, the Astoria Sectional with Chaise, and the Broadway Sectional:

• Erik Richard, our Software Administrator, about the Emily: “The Emily Sectional has the ability to fit lots of people on it and the power aspect of it adds to the comfort. Also, it has flat sectional pieces for trays of game day food and drinks.”

• Anita Munoz, Design Consultant in Cambridge, about the Astoria: “Comfortable seats and a nice big bumper chaise gives additional seating for all your football buddies. A nice protected leather will keep your sectional looking good for the spillers in your crew.”

• Richa Sinha, Design Consultant in Framingham, about the Broadway: “It is deep and very comfortable. I like the broad track arms - a great place to perch either people or drinks/snacks.”

If there’s going to be a lot of snacking throughout the game (and let’s be real, there probably will be), any of these choices would satisfy your cravings!

*Important note: Not all fabrics are suitable for things like snacking or spills. Your best option would be a performance fabric like Ultrasuede, Crypton, or Sunbrella or even protected leather, which has a polymer coating to help resist stains.

Second place

Putnam Sectional

Our runner up was the Putnam Sectional. It has a different look than the Milford, but its generous size and spacious seating are what make it an ideal choice for game day gatherings:

“It's large. You can both stretch out as a chaise or sit quite a few people as a sectional,” shared Jo-Anne Lucas, a Design Consultant in Middleton.

The Milford Cuddle Chaise Sectional!

Milford Cuddle Chaise Sectional

A high back, deep seats, and general comfort helped name the Milford as our top sectional for game day. From Merchandising to Marketing and, of course, Design Consultants in our showrooms, there are many fans cheering it on.

Georgianna Stevens, Store Manager of our Cambridge showroom, said, “This is the ultimate comfy couch. It's cozy, casual, and can be made to accommodate everyone on your game day guest list.”

Our videographer, Curt Lestan, is all for the cuddle aspect of the Milford - but he also didn’t hold back when offering another reason why it’s his top choice:

“Let's say your team isn’t the best in the league. Every year when the big game comes around, you are excited for the commercials and the halftime show. It would be nice to have a cuddler for the actual game. This way you can be surrounded by loved ones while you realize that year after year, this will always be a day of disappointment.”
